Hi friends, I hope y’all are doing well on this lovely Sunday!
So, story time!
About a month ago, I discovered that I had really rough patches of dry skin on my back near my underarms. It would burn when hot water would touch it, dry out immediately when lotion was put on it, and overall it was a really crappy situation. It took a couple of weeks to get that part of my skin regulated again.
The point of this story is that the experience taught me to care for all parts of my skin, so that I don’t have more of those problems. Skin needs cleansers as well as moisturizers Within this first month of establishing a skin cleaning routine, I’ve seen such improvement to my overall look.
Today, I want to talk to y’all about my skin care routine; how I go about caring and enhancing the healthiness of my skin.
Let’s start with my overall body care. I use one brand of body wash, and body lotion.
I’ve been using Suave body wash since I was 14 years old, and it’s always kept me smelling good and feeling fresh. My favorite is Ocean Breeze.
Just recently, I decided to completely switch my body lotion to Jergens, both the hydrating coconut and the ultra healing formula. Jergens is what I used to heal the rough skin near my underarms. Ever since then, I’ve been using it to keep all of my body moisturized.
I use Jergens on my face too, since the formula isn’t too strong. And I use two different products to wash my face, during different times of course.
My first wash is Ivory Soap. This used to be my main facial wash, until I found the second one. Now, I only use this when:
- I take a second shower during the day
- My face is dirty throughout the day
My second (and main) facial cleanser is Noxema’s Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream. Wooo, that’s a long title. This cream keeps my face shiny, clean, and soft! When I was in high school, this was used as just a winter facial cleanser since Ivory Soap doesn’t accommodate my skin needs by itself in the cold. Now that I’ve experienced the results of using it during warm temperatures (go North Carolina), I can’t leave it alone!
I just wanted to share my routine with you guys, in case any of you are looking for awesome products to use. I highly recommend everything that I use on my body; it’s safe, and effective. Let me know what you guys use for body washing and lotioning, I’d love to hear your experiences! Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a great rest of the weekend!
