So, I have a small disclaimer before starting this read. This is not a “which is better,” or “which is more worth it” read, but rather a compare/contrast and review read. Also, I’m going to be throwing a lot of Ayanna magic in this read tonight, so bear with me.
I love lip gloss for three reasons.
- It looks good with my skin
- It enhances my lips to make them more visually appealing
- It moisturizes my lips more when I use it on top of regular chapstick
I recently just got into using lip gloss heavily. By recently, I mean about a month ago, after finding out it benefits me. I am extremely picky about what I put on my lips, however, so I’m never wearing glosses from multiple brands. That’s how my skin starts breaking out and shedding. Instead, I found two lip glosses that agree with my mouth sensitivity. This was not an easy process, as it took a ton of research and trial-and-error.
The two lip glosses that are my lips life and saviors are Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb, and Bath & Body Works Mentha Lip Shine.
These items are completely different, but have quite a few things in common too. For one, they both feel and look amazing on my lips.
They are definitely enhancers, and I can feel the plump that’s in them. The Gloss Bomb doesn’t use much plump, you can barely feel it. But the Mentha Lip Shine that I use (100% Natural Mint) has quite a bit of plump. When I first put it on, it feels like I’m applying Icyhot to a sore muscle, only a little less intense.
Both items smell SO good! The Gloss Bomb smells like a combination of caramel and cherry starbursts (yes, I actually sat here and smelled the gloss for several minutes). The Mentha Lip Shine smells like mint cookies (yum!)
They both keep my lips mosturized. These are the types of lip glosses that I can apply without using a chapstick base. Some of the lip products that I wore back in high school were really rough and would hurt my mouth if I did not put on moisturizing chapstick first. The ingredients used in the Gloss Bomb and Mentha Lip Shine are really smooth and natural.
While I don’t have a favorite over the two glosses that I use, I can say that I wear the Mentha Lip Shine more. There’s no particular reason why, just that it feels better when I’m up and active during the day. So I end up wearing it to work, around the house, etc. I love wearing the Gloss Bomb when I’m wearing a cute outfit, or I’m having a day where I want my face to glow. It’s like a natural lipstick.
If any of you have tried either of these glosses, please feel free to share your thoughts about them! I want to know if I’m the only person in love with these products, haha! But, that’s really all for this read. Thank you guys for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful night!
